Service Benefits
Service BenefitsThe CareMate® Service offers many valuable benefits to both seniors who live independently, and to family caregivers: 1. Benefits to Seniors, Who Live IndependentlyLive in Own Home, LongerSeniors who live in their own homes, want to continue living there for as long as possible. But difficulty with daily living tasks can end this lifestyle. The difficulty can be due to physical decline, but many times it is due to mental decline. The Service can help seniors carry out various daily living tasks. For example, it can help by reminding the senior to do something, or by motivating the senior to do something. For many seniors who are mostly challenged by mental decline, this could be enough to enable the seniors to continue to live in their own home, for longer. Stay Out of a Nursing HomeWhen a senior can no longer look after her/himself, in their own home, or even with family assistance, they will have to move out. Sometimes that can move in with their family. Sometimes they can move into a nice assisted living facility. But many times they have to move into a nursing home. Here, they lose their independence. By using the CareMate® Service, a senior may be able to avoid having to move into a nursing home, at least for a time. Help Seniors Who Have Mental DeclineMental decline includes: forgetfulness; reduced self-motivation; slow thinking. Mental decline can cause seniors to have difficulty carrying out daily living tasks. The CareMate® Service can help seniors who have mental decline. Better Long-Term HealthThe automatic reminders from the Service can help senior carry out daily living tasks, including tasks that positively affect the senior’s health. Thus, a senior’s long term health could improve by using the Service. Avoid Emergencies, and Consequences – Be SaferEmergencies can occur in many ways to a senior. Many of these emergencies related to the senior not carrying out an important daily living task properly, such as: forgetting to take medication or leaving the stove on. The Service has the potential to help a senior avoid emergencies, and be safer. Increased Peace of MindWhen the senior trusts the Service, they may have increased peace of mind. They will know that even if their mind is not working too well, the Service will provide reminders and messages to them to help them properly carry out daily living tasks. They will also know that the Service will check-in on them, and report problems to the family caregiver. Save MoneyThe senior will have expenses related to their well-being. If the senior has an emergency, there will be extra costs. In addition, as the senior’s health declines, there will be extra costs for such things as more medication, assistive devices, and assistive services. The Service can help the senior be healthier, which also decreased the probability of emergencies happening. Thus, the Service will save the senior money. 2. Benefits For Family CaregiversLess Effort and Time Required To Assist SeniorThe Service automatically carries out caregiver tasks with the senior.
This offloads these tasks from the family caregiver. Less effort and time is required from the family caregiver to provide assistance to senior. NOTE: It is important to note that the Service is not meant to result in less face-to-face and telephone connection between the family caregiver and senior. The Service gives the family caregiver the opportunity to spend more time "socializing" with the senior, and less time connecting with the senior on "business". Provide Better AssistanceThe Service will automatically deliver reminders and messages, and carry out compliance checks, on a schedule, consistently, no matter how many there are. And it never takes a break or holiday. And the Service will alert the family caregiver, reliably and promptly. The family caregiver will then be able to respond quickly to any issues. This is better assistance to the senior then could be provided by the family caregiver without the Service. Increased Peace of MindThe family caregiver will know that the Service is automatically and reliably giving the senior reminders and messages to help the senior carry out daily living tasks, every day, throughout the day. In addition, the family caregiver will know that the Service is carrying out compliance checks, and sending alerts to the family caregiver if there is an issue. Caregiving On The GoIf the family caregiver carries around a cellphone or smartphone, then they can do caregiving, any time, and any place. No matter where they are, they can receive Alerts from the Service. And no matter where they are, they can carry out Service management reminder, message and Alert set-up. Caregiving While At WorkThe family caregiver can conveniently carry out caregiving tasks, even at work. They can check for Alerts on their cellphone or smartphone. If there is an Alert, they can quickly read it during a break. If the Alert needs a quick response, they can call the senior, or call someone to handle the issue. Less Need To Take Time Off WorkBecause the senior may have less emergencies, the family caregiver will have less need to take time off work to assist the senior. In addition, because the senior may have better long term health, there is less need to go to doctor and medical appointments, etc. Remote CaregivingWith the Service, the family caregiver can provide good assistance to the senior, even when they live far apart. Save MoneyThe family caregiver can save money several ways. Every time the family caregiver has to take time off work, to help the senior due to an emergency, or simply to help the senior go to a doctor appointment, they could lose money (salary, or vacation pay). Also, every time the family caregiver helps the senior, the family caregiver has personal expenses. The Service can result in the senior requiring the help of the family caregiver less, resulting in fewer expenses for the family caregiver. In addition, if the senior has a large expense due to an emergency or major health issue, the family caregiver my have to provide financial help to the senior. |
